August Adventures!

Hello All,
I have hopped on the .GIF band wagon this month with my BLINK Windows Phone App. And why not?!
Ava has been so flippin cute this month! That lil personality is blooming. She's been repeating pretty much everything she hears now and if she finds a crayon you better be prepared to color a picture FOR her lol.
Yes, she looks homeless lol I got home from work at 3pm and daddy was having a Lazy day.
This is so fun, Wes and I sneak peeks in her room and find her in the funniest sleeping positions.

When Mama left the room she gathered her books to read but it must have been quite a task because she only halfway made it back to bed lol
I think she likes sleeping in this position lol

She has also been testing out the most comfortable places to read in the house. :)

Reading on the Shelby
She gives a new meaning to reading on the can!!!

Reading on the Goob

Uncle Blake also schooled her in the ways of the best Batman cartoon series.

Wes is such a sweetheart!!! He brought me flowers, I love lilies!
We went to Lagoon on the 16th for the first time together! It was so fun. Mimi Z, her nephews, Sena and Robby went with us.

You can't really tell but she is smiling :)

Ava with cousins walking down Pioneer Village! <3 We stopped to get ice-cream at the old pharmacy! Yum!
Love these two! Haha and Chewbacca standing by them ;)

Ava loved the Swim park! She went down the water slides all by herself too. Wes and I had more fun watching her have fun... one of those parent moments where everything else stops in time and you just live in that moment :)

Love this little purple wizard baby
Cousin Wesley and Ava :)

Ava and Daddy in line to drive Jeeps!

Ava and Daddy playing Gears of War

We gave Ava an old flip phone we found in some boxes. She loves to call Jakey and Sena.

I'm posting this early because I will be out of town for the weekend. Everyone have a great Labor Day weekend! Be Safe. :)

Memory Loss Prolongers!

Hello all,
So I have family that has/had Alzheimers and Dementia. Also working in healthcare I have taken care of people with memory loss problems. So it got me thinking about trying to keep my brain working. I know there is no cure out there for these problems YET but I've read there are ways to prolong such things by "brain games."
A while back, before my little punkin baby, I purchased Brain Challenge on the X-box for $4.99. I love it! Plus you can try the Free demo out before you buy it. Sadly becoming a mama has tapered off my game console playing time so I wanted to find another option.

My latest kick is Lumosity. I purchased the month option for $12 to see what it was like. The yearly option is for about $4.24/month but you have to buy all 12 months upfront. I have been really really liking it. It was designed by neuroscientists and the subscription money goes towards scientist's neuro research. They've made those (annoying) IQ test problems into games and being the nerd I am loves that. Also loving that it can be accessed on tablets, phones and your PC.

What do you think? Have you tried these or anything else to challenge your brain? What did you think of them?
Thanks All,
Jen :)

Our Adventures This July!

Hi Everyone!
This month has been a fun one! We started out the month by taking Ava out to visit her Papa & Mimi Zellers for the 4th of July weekend! I met Laurie (Mimi) half way in Duchesne.

Sena and Ava

While Ava was out in Colorado Wes, Jake and I went to the first ever  FantasyCon at the Salt Palace in SLC. It was amazing! We purchased VIP passes for some perks which included a very masculine man purse and a stuffed dragon. That's the only reason Wes and Jake wanted VIP tickets LOL but I quite enjoyed skipping lines and sitting in sectioned off front rows.
This enormous dragon has a 53-foot wingspan and stands just under 3 stories tall and is The Guinness Book of World Records largest dragon!

We went to Simon Peg's Q&A panel! (from: Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, and Star Trek to name a few)

This was so so so awesome!!! Loved this panel from the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit!!!!
If you'd like to see more of our nerd fest let me know! I have tons of pics!

On Sunday the 6th after we all got home Wes decided to set up the toddler bed that my sister Lou gave us. I wasn't ready for my baby to move into a "big girl" bed plus the idea of putting her back in bed 100 times that night after our long trip didn't sound super fun. This teaser baby proved me wrong!

Loving her new big girl bed!
20 min later she wasn't quite so sure about it so Daddy came and held her hand.
10 min later a sippy cup, a FantasyCon dragon and a bunny butt did the trick!
Ava has also dressed up a bunch. This is so fun watching her personality develop!
Daddy got her dressed this day.... or maybe she was pretending to be a redneck, who knows?!

On this day she brought me a purple sash from our wedding and wanted all her "pretties" in her hair!
*
Grandpa Hardy came over and brought Ava some ice-cream sandwiches. After all that ice-creamy goodness she wanted to take a nap with our dog Shelby... well more like ON.

On our way to Golf at the ghetto mini golf course in the middle of Logan. A hawk fell dead out of a tree and missed Jake by 2-3 feet. Had to put apples off each of the greens but that was half the fun! LOL

We ended the month on Thursday with dinner a Grandma Great Supulver's house and having a great time with our Tsipi cousins, aunt Amanda & Krista and Grandma Hardy!

Well, there goes my first Blog! What did you think?
See Ya Later!
